We are excited to invite you to join Women in Security and Privacy (WISP) for a fireside chat with Jade Nester and happy hour to enjoy drinks, snacks and great company at WISP's first event in London.

There will also be an opportunity to learn more about WISP programs and how you can get involved.

About Jade:

Jade Nester is Director, Consumer Policy, at the GSMA, a trade association representing the interests

of mobile network operators worldwide. Previously, she was at Promontory Financial Group, an IBM

company, where she advised clients on compliance with privacy and data protection laws and

regulations.

Jade has over 13 years of experience working on information and communications technology policy

and regulatory issues. Between 2006 and 2014, she held a number of roles within the U.S.

government, including Senior Advisor for Internet Policy at the National Telecommunications and

Information Administration (NTIA) in the Commerce Department and Director, Internet Public Policy

at the State Department.

During the Obama Administration, Jade co-chaired a White House National Science and Technology

Council working group responsible for U.S. policy on commercial cross-border privacy issues,

including U.S. views on the EU GDPR. She also participated in the U.S.-EU Safe Harbor Consultation.

In 2010, Jade served as the head of the U.S. delegation to the OECD Working Party on Information

Security and Privacy.

She has a J.D. from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and a B.A. from The

George Washington University. She holds the CIPP/E, CIPP/G and CIPM certifications, and is a

Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). She is also a member of the IAPP

Women Leading Privacy Advisory Board.
