Data Privacy Analyst

Lyft’s privacy team is comprised of engineers and analysts dedicated to ensuring appropriate data protections are applied at all times. We build tools, develop policies, conduct assessments, consult with stakeholders, maintain Lyft’s Data Privacy Program and advise on all matters privacy.
As a member of the Data Privacy team you will work with teams across Lyft ensuring products, services, and partnerships are protecting company and individual data from unauthorized or unnecessary access. You will contribute to defining, refining and managing Lyft’s Data Privacy Program; assess existing processes refining them to a more mature state; conduct privacy risk and impact assessments; and regularly consult with others throughout the organization to minimize risk exposure and improve data safeguards.

Conduct Privacy Impact Assessments of internal and external partners during the development or adoption of new technologies, systems, or programs
Consult with engineers developing the appropriate data handling controls for processing user’s and Lyft data
Develop and maintain privacy policies and guidelines for engineers, data scientists, and business partners
Assist in the implementation of our privacy management framework that includes personal information asset inventory, data protection risk and impact assessments
Serve as internal advisor to engineers, data scientists, compliance and legal teams on data privacy related issues
Assist internal teams developing corrective action plans for identified privacy compliance issues
Assist in creating and delivering awareness campaigns, training and orientation for all Lyft associates
Identify trends in privacy and regulatory requirements and compliance enforcement and account for the necessary changes in data privacy program
Recognize emerging privacy threats through anticipatory and predictive data analyzation
Experience & Skills:
Excellent analytical skills with ability to grasp technical concepts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain complex technical problems to business partners.
Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented
Knowledge of the privacy aspects of the product development lifecycle, data handling and asset classification and knowledge of the role of a privacy professional in ensuring customer data is properly managed
Ability to articulate the importance of customer privacy
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Ability to prioritize, adapt and work with cross-functional teams in a dynamic work environment with minimal supervision.
Willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities as needed
