Welcome to our new Chair-Elect Alyssa Coley and Vice Chair-Elect Irene Mo!
If you’ve met with WISP at a major privacy or security conference in the United States in the last several years, you probably already know Alyssa or Irene. Together, Alyssa and Irene have planned and hosted over 100 WISP events, virtually and across the United States; personally met with over 400 of WISP scholarship award winners; and generated over $100K in donations and partnerships for WISP. After 8 wildly successful years as WISP’s Chair, Rachel Tobac will be transitioning to past-chair. and will remain on our Leadership Board.
Alyssa joined WISP as a member in 2015 to jump start her career in privacy and become more involved in industry events. As a member, she quickly built a strong network in the WISP community and started volunteering shortly thereafter. Her passion for fostering community led to her selection in 2018 as Co-Lead the WISP Events Committee, where she dedicated her time to ensuring WISP's events remained vibrant and valuable for all members. Recognizing WISP's promising future, Alyssa joined the WISP Leadership Board in 2022. She is eager to help guide WISP’s continued success with this most recent election.
After following the WISP Twitter account as a law student in Michigan, one of the reasons Irene decided to move to the San Francisco Bay Area in late 2018 was because of the WISP community. In early 2019, WISP awarded Irene a scholarship to attend the RSA Conference and the experience was life changing. To express her gratitude and pay it forward, Irene started volunteering for WISP that same year--becoming WISP's 2019 DEF CON Lead. Then in 2020, Irene started volunteering with the WISP Events Committee, before ascending to the WISP Leadership Board in 2022.
